Notes taken when I try to study the paper Arithmetic Jet Spaces

Introduction

  • There are the following viewpoints for giving a derivation on a ring R

    • A map φ:RR such that φ(ab)=φ(a)b+aφ(b).

    • A map in HomR(ΩR1,R).

    • A map in HomRings(R,R[ϵ]/ϵ2), i.e. a map of schemes Spec(R[ϵ]/ϵ2)SpecR.

    • A vector field on SpecR.

  • One can construct a jet space for each n, let Dn(R)=R[ϵ]/ϵn+1.
